Turning Rumi: Singing Verses of Love Unity and Freedom

My Project with new poem-paintings inspired from Rumi Poems is coming to end for the time being. In january 2012 , the premiere of these new works is scheduled to be held at Expressions Gallery, Berkeley, California. I have completed 52 mix-media paintings in one year and it has been a soulful journey with Rumi!

I am ready to share with you all this spiritual journey which uplifts and consols and holds us all together in these chaotic times and stoney paths…

I will add every other day one poem and inspired painting so come back more often to drink this wine of love offered by the great poet.

Jelaluddin Rumi, the 13th century mystic poet, was truly one of the most passionate and profound poets in history.  Now, today his presence still remains strong, due in part to how his words seem to drip of the divine, and startle a profound rememberance that links all back to the Soul-Essence.  Born in what is present day Afghanistan in 1207, he produced his master work the Masnawi which consists of over 60,000 poems before he died in 1273.  The best way to fully say in words his impact, is that he has the ability to describe the Indescribable, Ineffable– God.

So we start with this beautiful uplifting thought-

Rumi Poem- Transformation-I

What have you seen of your own still-concealed beauty?

One of these days at dawn,

You will rise from within yourself like a sun.
